A sociologist is primarily focused on identifying, analysing, and formulating theories about structures, relationships and social actors in the contemporary world for the purpose of testing methods, applying tools and discovering solutions to social problems, with an emphasis on our regional and national reality. The training provided by the Professional School of Sociology is based on a humanist conception, developing the skills of our students for an optimal professional practice. In operational terms this involves developing research activities, formulation and execution of projects, training and organisation, promotion and communication. All linked to social reality.
Urban and rural development projects (promotion, organisation, basic studies and definitive studies through public sectors); Formulation, management advice and execution of projects; Development consultancy and promotion; Teaching in Universities and Higher Institutes and in the field of social communication by practicing specialised journalism in TV, radio, written and magazines.
